Pakistan against Iran sanctions: FO

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has categorically said that it wants the resolution of disputes through dialogue and that it is against the sanctions on Iran, said Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit Thursday.
“Iran’s nuclear issue be resolved diplomatically,” FO spokesman said at a weekly briefing here.
He said President Asif Ali Zardari will soon undertake a tour of China. Replying a question, Abdul Basit said Indian media should shake away its anti-Pakistan attitude to give way to a new beginning in bilateral relations.
He said several suggestions have come up in the Afghan peace jirga in connection with establishment of peace which need implementation.The FO spokesman said there is a need to build confidence on sides at Pakinsta-India foreign ministers’ meeting to be held on July 15.He said efforts are afoot to improve human rights situation in the current democratic regime.
