TORONTO: Former Prime Minister of PAKISTAN Shaukat Aziz has conceded that he has been meeting ex-president Pervez Musharraf occasionally. However politics is not the cup of tea for everyone and you do not need an office to serve the country. Talking to Jang during a brief tour of Canada he said that we took all decisions in the best interest of the country. Some of them brought good results and some bad. However one thing is certain that whatever we did was with best of intentions. Answering questions Shaukat Aziz said that he reached the office of prime minister with the grace of Almighty Allah, and even today he is being called from world over for lectures and advice. I did my best to serve the nation and even now what I am doing is for the glory and dignity of the nation. Shaukat Aziz said that there are multifarious causes for terrorism. There is a reaction to the presence of foreign troops in Afghanistan. Pakistan and our army are offering most of the sacrifices. He said that whenever Pervez Musharraf visits London, and if I am there I make a point to meet him. Asked whether he intended to join the All Pakistan Muslim League of Pervez Musharraf and what was his political future, he said that politics is not for everyone. You do not need a political office to serve the nation. While addressing as chief guest the annual celebrations of Canada-Pakistan Business Council, Shaukat Aziz said that Pakistan has rendered great sacrifices for regional peace and security. He said that overseas Pakistanis are playing the important role of ambassadors of their country. He said that they should close their ranks and display unity and solidarity. All their differences should be restricted within the country. He said that as a result of war on terror Pakistanis have sacrificed lives more than any other country in the world. Armed forces and law enforcement agencies have played a tremendous role in restoration of law and order in the areas hit by terrorists. The ceremony was attended by Canada Minister of Immigration Jane Kenny, besides important businessmen, members of parliament and prominent figures of Pakistani community.
