A man has been arrested in Italy for claiming to be Jesus.
The 35-year-old Moroccan was taken into custody when police spotted him staggering drunk through Tarquinia, an ancient town north of Rome.
Asked to identify himself, he replied "I am Jesus Christ".
The man was taken to hospital where he refused treatment and continued to claim he was the Son of God, police said.
After a background check police discovered he was an illegal immigrant who may have been employed off-the-books by local farmers.

After a night in the cells to sleep off his binge, the man was charged with providing police with a false identity.
