A lawyer was killed when unidentified persons opened fire in Lahore Sessions Court Wednesday in a bid to get some accused persons, present there for appearing before court, released. One of the assailants was also killed when police on duty returned fire, said SP city police.The lawyer killed in the incident has been identified as Mehboob.According to eyewitnesses there were a total of four-five men who went on firing rampage inside the court. The assailants hurled many hand-grenades before opening fire, of which one went off. The bomb disposal squad recovered and defused two hand grenades.Some of the people present there saved their lives by running to safer spots while some ran outside the court premises. Later, heavy contingent of police reached the site of the incident and surrounded the court premises. SSP Operations Lahore Shafiq Gujjar also reached the spot.Former secretary Lahore Bar Latif Sara, condemning the incident, said the security measures were insufficient.
